We are recruiting a Full Time Family Pastor at Vineyard Church Dungannon
Role: Family Pastor
Location: VCD, The Storehouse, 4 Church Lane, Dungannon
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (to include Sundays)
Start Date: 1st September 2019. The Family Pastor is responsible for leading Children’s Ministry at VCD. The Family pastor will identify, recruit, train, deploy, monitor and nurture volunteers to successfully deliver an exciting, creative and sustainable model of Church that is age appropriate for Under 2s, Pre-schoolers and Primary School Age children. The Family pastor will also serve and work with our local primary schools.
The Family Pastor is responsible for assisting newcomers at VCD to develop a sense of belonging and to help those who are part of the family of VCD maintain that sense of belonging through community groups.
The dominant metaphor for the Church in the New Testament is Family. We want people to find a place to belong, to find family and to be part of a community group that gather every week to eat together, pray together, and practice the way of Jesus together.

This list is not exhaustive but is intended to capture the main responsibilities of the role: -
Cast Vision – Shape and cast a compelling vision for children and adults to live lives devoted to Jesus and in his presence and promote this vision effectively on a church-wide basis
Intentional Leadership Development – Identify, recruit, train, deploy, monitor and nurture volunteer leaders to serve within our children’s ministry and community groups.
Provide Oversight – Provide direction, spiritual oversight, vision, strategic development and ensure excellent coaching for all volunteers within children’s ministry and community groups.
Plan and Implement Strategy – In collaboration with the lead pastor, to plan and implement a strategy for the children’s ministries, community groups and new comer assimilation within the church. Also monitor budget for all ministries within your remit.
Protect – Uphold all church policy regarding children and young people and ensure all volunteers are adequately screened and trained.
Evaluate – Work with the lead pastor, volunteers and relevant others to regularly evaluate the effectiveness of our children’s ministries and community groups and their place within our wider church context.
Support parents and other carers – Work with our leaders and volunteers to build healthy, effective channels of communication with the parents and carers of our children, including inviting those who don’t yet know Jesus to explore the Christian faith and equipping those who are following Jesus to develop discipleship at home.
