Responding to the Assembly Report of Dec 2007 citing Dungannon and South Tyrone as one of the areas “most likely” to experience child poverty in Northern Ireland we set up "reach" to provide emergency support to families and individuals in need.
"reach" desires to carry on providing this holistic care to the vulnerable people within our community by continuing to offer a variety of support systems, this includes practical, emotional and spiritual support. In doing so we want to empower each one towards more freedom and more fullness of life and respect on their journey. "reach" partners with many local agencies such as STEP, Sure Start, De Paul Hostel, Women’s Aid, St Vincent de Paul, and Social Services to name a few.
“Reach” runs weekly on Thursdays 10am to 1:00pm (except during bank holidays) giving practical, emotional and spiritual support to those in desperate need within our community. Practically we provide food including fresh vegetables and fruit, bread and baked items, non perishable foods such as soup, pasta, rice and cereal. We also provide clothing and small household items.
The service can be accessed from ‘The Storehouse’ (4 Church Lane, Dungannon – entrance via Perry Street Car Park).
For more information about "reach" or inquire about volunteering, please contact office on 028 8775 2133 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
